¡HolaKids!, a Spanish immersion preschool, needed to regroup after the pandemic upended services and ways of working. I supported the leadership team in a pulse check with parents and staff, and developing an action plan that addressed their current needs.
Working closely with ¡HolaKids! Founder and Director, I began by taking the pulse of key stakeholders - parents, teachers, and administrative staff. We wanted to understand what was working well, what pain points they were experiencing, and what the biggest opportunities might be to improve their experiences.
I created a 5-minute survey for parents and interviewed 8 parents. I created a separate, slightly longer survey for teachers, since they would have time to complete it during working hours, and interviewed 8 teachers, all in Spanish. I also interviewed administrative staff and conducted research on "competitor" preschools in the area.
We reported out on this data and opportunities to administrators and staff.
The administrative team cam together to review research findings and identify top priorities. In two sessions, we developed a 3-month action plan to address major challenges and opportunities.
As part of this plan, I supported the team in developing rubrics for staff performance reviews and compensation, as well as strategies to engage parents.
